Get Pearly Whites to Match that Summer GLOW

*DISCLAIMER: This post was sponsored by Smile Brilliant. All teeth whitening opinions are my own.*

Hey ya’ll! I can’t believe we are almost in August! I don’t know about you but I have about 10 different tan lines from all of the bathing suits I have! I love a bright and white smile to go along with my summer glow! Not the Ross smile though (for my FRIENDS fanatics). I didn’t have that white smile before summer. Thanks to my trusty morning bestie called Coffee.

My teeth have become a little stained because I drink A LOT of coffee.. Girl can’t go without it. I was super excited when Smile Brilliant reached out to me to try their At-Home Whitening Kit! I’ve been using Smile Brilliant for the past several months to get those pearly whites! I’m so glad there is a teeth whitening treatment out there that is comparable to the dentist WITHOUT going! Not only is it convenient but it’s actually cheaper! I’ve been able to whiten from the comfort of my own home on my own time. How much better can that get?!

Here is how it works:

  • Smile Brilliant will send you an at home impression kit. You make your own impressions and send them back in so that you can have your very own personalized trays made. How awesome is that?
  • Along with the impression kit, you will get a set of whitening gels and desensitizing gels. Each syringe has about 3-4 uses in them.
  • Before whitening, be sure to brush your teeth without any toothpaste to remove any residue.
  • You use the whitening gel FIRST, by aligning your upper and bottom trays. You don’t want to put too much though because it will more than likely push out the extra gel once you put your trays on. Wait 30 min to an hour (use a timer) and remove!
  • Then you use the desensitizing gel if you have sensitive teeth, like me. Make sure you rinse out your trays after whitening and then align your trays with this as well. Wait for about 20 min and remove!
  • After you’ve whitened, brush those teeth! And you are DONE.
  • Be sure to clean your trays well for the next use.

I made this fit into my daily life. I work full-time and have a pretty busy schedule so the best times for me to whiten were at night. I have extremely sensitive teeth so I would whiten for about 30-40 min, every other night. I used the desensitizing gel after every use as well. This really helped with the sensitivity the day after! If I still felt sensitive, I would use the desensitizing gel again the next day.

I’m excited to share that Smile Brilliant is offering a GIVEAWAY! One of my followers will have a chance to win their own at-home whitening kit, valued at $139. The kit will include the custom fitted teeth whitening trays, two base pastes, two catalysts pastes, 3 whitening gels, and 3 desensitizing gels. Go-To Foundations for Oily Skin

Foundation for oily skin- Drug Store and High End

Foundation for oily skin

Hello loves. Today, we’re talking about oily skin and the best foundations to help control that shine we all hate. There’s a difference in looking “dewy” and like the grease on a pizza. I have hella oily skin and I have been on the search for a few foundations that work for me. Now, remember, we all have different skin, find something that caters to YOUR skin type. These foundations might not work the best for those on the drier side.

I work in an office all day, so my foundation is sitting for 10+ hours on my face. I’ve found THREE foundations that have worked the best for me. Two are drug store and one is a higher end but still pretty affordable.

Foundation for oily skin- Revlon Drugstore Foundation

Revlon Colorstay

Now I’m sure you have seen this one EVERYWHERE, the Revlon Colorstay Foundation. I’ve been using this foundation for at least 5 years and it has stayed true to me. This one also has a HUGE selection of color tones and I usually end up getting a few bottles of varied shades to mix for my perfect shade throughout the year. You can find this at pretty much any local drugstore for around $10. I’m not going to preach and say that my skin doesn’t get a little oily but it’s not NEARLY as bad as it usually is. It also has great coverage if you do have acne.

Foundation for oily skin- L'Oreal True Match Drugstore Foundation

L’Oreal True Match

The second foundation is another popular one, L’Oreal True Match. This one is great for oily skin too with great coverage. You don’t need alot of this because a little goes a long way. You can get a wide selection of shades too so if you’re looking to check this one out, you can get it at any Target or drug store for around $9.

Foundation for oily skin- Estee Lauder Doublewear

Estee Lauder Doublewear

Estee Lauder Double Wear is my holy grail of foundations. I actually saw a review on Youtube with someone who has a similar skin type and I wanted to give it a try. This is definitely my favorite foundation. I actually went to a Dillards to have them match my skin tone to my true shade. It’s higher in price than the Revlon, around $40, but if you can afford to splurge a little, I recommend giving this one a shot.

Remember, everyone’s skin is different so try and stick to what works for you! I have definitely tried most recommended foundations for oily skin and these two are what work best for me right now. If you’ve tried other products and really liked the results, comment down below! I love to try new things and different brands.
