Let me just say, I’m sorry I’m a day late with this post. You know when you get home from a long day at work and you just have a to-do list of stuff that NEEDS to get done? Yeah, that’s what happened yesterday. I had 3 full loads of laundry, I let it build up for over two weeks, my meal prep to cook, and just a bunch of other boring life stuff. LOL.
Anyway, it’s now May! Can you believe it?! We’re already almost halfway through the year. The weather is finally cooperating and the pollen is just sprayed everywhere…great image I know. LOL. I went a little crazy during the month of April with my spending. I took my girls trip to Savannah and then just let myself get out of hand. Goodness gracious! So I am starting a challenge with myself for the month of May to not spend money on things that I DO NOT NEED…bare with me.
I know that I cannot be alone in this! I have a closet full of clothes which half, I do not wear. But then I’m always like “Gosh, I have NOTHING to wear!” That’s sad! Last weekend, I went through my stuff and pulled out anything I had not worn in the past 6+ months. It was a bag full of clothes that were in mint shape because I only wore them a few times and then forgot about it.
I’m going to make myself take what I already have and REFASHION it. Hence the new series… “RefashionedOOTD” I am so excited for this! I’ve already gotten a head start but I really want to challenge you and have you be a part of this series too! It’s pretty easy, you refashion pieces you already own into an outift that you have not worn, maybe wouldn’t normally wear or one of your favorite looks. That means, layering favorite pieces, tying pieces, maybe even cutting up some old clothes, just get creative! You never know where this will take you! During this series, use the hashtag #RefashionedOOTD and tag me in your posts! I want to see what it is you come up with and don’t be afraid to try something new in a look. There are no rules in fashion! Which is why I love it so much.
Every Friday, I will repost what you have tagged me in on my stories for the #RefashionedOOTD series! Use pinerest for inspiration or go old-school like I do sometimes and buy a fashion magazine! I love Vogue and Marie Claire. Hell, create an inspiration board with some scissors and glue! DO YOU BOOBOO! I want this to be fun. Not only will we learn to save money but we will learn to make the best of what we have. Now let’s get started.. 🙂
